University of Ottawa Pool Closing: April 29-June 24
Apr 18, 2017

Dear Kingfish Members and Families:

As you have been informed, our uOttawa pool will be closed for the period of April 28-June 23. We have been working hard to secure pool time for all members affected and are awaiting final “minor” confirmations from one pool. To see posted template schedules for the this period click here

We are trying to offer a variety of options to ensure that you have plenty of flexibility! If you cannot attend a practice at a certain location please talk to your coach to see if you can attend an alternate location with another group. We will do our best to accommodate all requests , however we only have limited space at some locations.

We understand that this is a challenging situation and inconvenient to our members . We’d prefer that our pool wasn’t closing, however, maintenance and updates to facilities are required and we will make the best of the situation.

Please contact me if you have any immediate questions.

Lets GO Swim Junior Program FunMeet # 2
Mar 4, 2017

To all Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Welcome to our winter edition of our Let’s GO Swim Fun Meet. We are proud to offer our young swimmers the opportunity to put their skills to the test in a fun and supportive environment. Many will see how they’ve improved since our last Fun Meet, while others will experience the competitive side of the sport of swimming for the first time. With great enthusiasm, our junior coaches at Francois Dupuis and Canterbury Pool have taught our swimmers to learn, develop, and strengthen skills that will help them become stronger swimmers. And we couldn’t be more excited to see them race!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support for our Let’s GO Swim Junior Program. We’re always looking for new, innovative ways to strengthen our program and to fuel the passion each swimmer brings for our sport. As parents, you play a vital role in keeping your children active and helping them reach their goals. Thank you for your words of encouragement and your devoted interest in your child’s continued development in the water.

Are you looking to take the next step? Why not take a peek on our website and check out our Bronze Competitive Program at http://www.gokingfish.ca/programs/competitive. Please feel free to contact us via email or approach coaches before/after practice to talk about if your child is ready to take that next step.

Have a great swim meet and have FUN!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
